New guesthouse and garden
mission
A large family consisting of adult children and their families has a beach property on an island in the archipelago. One of the houses has subsided and needs to be replaced and one of the piers and the shoreline needs to be renovated. The family needs help with drawings for the new house and connection to the pier and beach. In connection with this, the family also wants to adapt the outdoor environments and create social areas to better suit the needs of the large family. has done some work to create a beautiful garden but the design challenges feel difficult to solve and the family wants help with a general plan and idea for the outdoor environment. A larger terrace, greenhouse, pond and fireplace were desired as well as solutions for the entrance/parking and the old entrance at the back.

The plot is inaccessible to the north and is very steep, which means that all materials must be shipped by sea or carried down long stairs. Find solutions that both allow for socializing with many people and at the same time allow for privacy for the smaller family. Shore protection.

A new house is placed on the same site as the old one with 8 beds, generous social areas and a sauna. The shoreline is strengthened with stone and the beach is expanded. A flat wooden deck is placed by the beach where you can hang out in the evening sun and a couple of flat grass areas are created for children to play and croquet matches. The different houses are connected by stairs and illuminated walkways. The plantings are given a clear archipelago character with easy-care flowering shrubs and meadow areas.
