This is how we work
Step 1 - Meeting
We start all projects with a meeting at the site of the garden/building so we get a feel for each other and the environment, opportunities and challenges. We go through the process, costs and agree on a general description of the assignment. Based on your specific wishes and needs, we then provide a quote for the drawing work.
Step 2 - surveying and preliminary information collection
As a basis for the design work, a to-scale new construction map is needed with buildings, current heights and other relevant elements such as paving and trees. Often a survey is needed that we can administer for you. If necessary, we check current detailed plans and building regulations and contact the building permit unit to clarify the conditions regarding land and building permits and beach protection exemptions, etc.
Step 3 - Conceptual design
Based on the description we developed in the first meeting, we develop a conceptual design that we jointly check and adjust. The conceptual proposal includes 2D floor plans in CAD, 3D renderings in Sketchup/Lumion and mood boards.
Step 4 - Detailed design
Once we agree on the conceptual design, we develop it with additional levels of detail in CAD. For the garden design, we produce ground plan and construction drawings for pergolas, walls, stairs, etc. For buildings, we produce A-drawings such as facade, section, etc. We check all details continuously. If necessary, we also produce cost estimates based on the CAD drawings, drawings for excavation, drainage, shore protection, etc.
Step 5 - Planting plan
The final step for the garden designer is a planting plan with plant lists and quantity calculations.
Step 6 - Procurement and implementation
We are available for advice and quality assurance throughout the project and also help with procurement and coordination of contractors. We are resellers for several nurseries, garden lighting companies and suppliers of outdoor furniture, pots etc. and help with purchasing and deliveries. We can also recommend skilled craftsmen in our network.
Step 7 - Completion and finishing work
Once the project is complete, we are available for advice as long as you need. We provide irrigation schedules and maintenance instructions. Through our partners/gardeners, we can also offer garden maintenance.
